Adam Kerzner

Adam joined the Herold Lab in 2025 after earning his B.S. in Biology from the University of Delaware in 2024. During his undergraduate training, he developed a strong interest in host–pathogen interactions through research focused on how bacteria evade macrophage-mediated defenses.

In the Herold Lab, Adam studies the role of bacterial vaginosis (BV) in HIV latency reversal. His work aims to identify the specific molecules produced by BV-associated bacteria or by the host and to define the mechanisms by which these factors drive HIV reactivation.

Outside the lab, Adam enjoys playing pickup sports and video games and can often be found watching soccer on the weekends.
